My daughter and I came to Cody with a total of 2 days of fly fishing experience. We fished 2 days wet wading on the south fork of the Shoshone River with Ryan and were catching fish almost immediately. Our skills improved almost as rapidly as we were catching fish. We had an absolutely fabulous time fishing with Ryan on the Shoshone. On the 3rd day, we did a float on the north fork of the Shoshone. We started catching fish almost immediately after hitting the water. Again, his patience and instruction were tremendous, and we can’t thank him enough for 3 fabulous days of fishing in the Cody area.

Our 3-day fly fishing experience with Wyoming Wings & Waters was incredible. Ryan runs a best-in-class operation and Alec was a fantastic guide. The first 2 days we walked & waded inside Yellowstone National Park on the Yellowstone, Lamar and Firehole Rivers. The scenery and fishing were beyond compare and we got in to some beautiful 20+ inch native cutties. The animal life in the valleys around us added to the experience with herds of bison, elk and antelope within sight from the water. The 3rd day we floated the North Fork of the Shoshone outside the park near Wapiti, WY and had double digit trout days despite high water conditions thanks to Alec's intimate knowledge of the river. WW&W accommodated our group from novice to experienced fly fishers and we wish we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be returning soon!

I had an excellent couple of days fishing with Ryan. First day we floated the Bighorn and had good action all day, landing numerous good fish along with a few really good ones I missed. I wanted to see something different and really like creek fishing, so Ryan took me up to the Bighorn National forest. Again we caught fish all day and he went out of his way to ensure I saw the amazing sights and experienced different waters. He also made Chucker stew, for lunch one day, OMG!!! It was excellent!! Ryan is an excellent guide and overall good person to spend a couple days with.

Ryan guided my wife and I on a two day trout fishing trip in 2022. The experience was awesome. My wife and I are not experts at trout fishing. Ryan taught us a ton. I have been on guided trout fishing trips before and Ryan was by far the best guide I have fished with. He worked hard to teach and get us in position to get fish. My wife and I would definitely book with Ryan again.

Ryan was a superb guide. I took my teen son on a full day float and Ryan was a fantastic instructor as well, teaching my son new skills. Friendly, professional, patient and a great angler, Ryan is top-notch. He will be my guide year after year, for sure!

AWESOME!!!

The word gets overused ever since John Denver was singing but this truly was an awesome hunting trip. Our local guide, owner of Wyoming Wings and Waters, Ryan Aune, did everything he could to make our upland trip a success. We went after chukar, pheasant, Hungarian partridge, and Blue grouse and had success with everything except the Huns. (This can be explained because of the 40-50 mph winds with what had to be 70mph gusts.)

I will warn you that his hunts aren’t trips to your local game farm. You don’t go shooting with Ryan. You go hunting. It takes patience, stealth and skill. You also have to be in decent shape. The floor of the Big Horn Basin is a mile high over sea level. More times than not, you will be well above that at roughly 8,000+feet. Before you even consider going on these exceptional bird hunts, be certain you are in shape. Now that I spent a fair amount of time warning you off, I want to tell you how exceptional Wyoming Wings and Waters bird hunts are.

Our primary goal was to hunt chukars having read all about and seen videos of how difficult chukar hunting can be or, as I now call them, “#!*&=%#@birds!” These birds don’t do anything like you expect them to do. The dogs would go on point 40-50 yards out and, by the time we got close enough to take a shot the #!*&=%#@birds had run. Forcing us the climb up! This pattern repeated a number of times until the one time we walked right by them and then they flushed behind us! The dogs did their job. They were on point but couldn’t whisper or yell, “They are behind you, Dummy!” My partner did manage to bring down a couple.

Talking about the dogs. The ones we worked with-Lady, Ranger and Darla- were exceptionally well trained and behaved. They worked their hearts out to find birds. Ryan uses a mix of shorthairs, setters and spaniels-pointers, flushers and retrievers. he needs the mix because of the varied terrain and cover you go through in a day. High mountain meadows to stream beds and cattails.

One of the things I thought was really cool was Ryan prepared our lunches using the birds we shot the previous day and he is an exceptional cook. Chukar tacos, pheasant stew and Blue grouse pulled barbecue. Great hearty meals you need to get your energy back up.

The last subject I want to cover is the scenery. I grew up in Northern Colorado and thought I had seen every sort of mountain terrain there is. You will see everything from desert mesas to alpine vistas…in a single day times ten from what you see in Colorado The Big Horn Basin is awesome! There’s that word again. We had an awesome time and will definitely be going back to Wyoming Wings and Waters.

Went on a blue grouse hunt with the owner Ryan as my guide and had an amazing time. I shot my first blue grouse ever, and got to see his exceptional dogs at work. I am a little older, but it would be worth it to me to book a chukar hunt, just to watch his dogs work in the open country.

As for Ryan, I am extremely impressed. I have kids older than him, but his maturity and professionalism is outstanding. Also his knowledge of the outdoors, dogs, wildlife, country, and upland hunting was unreal. He is a very bright young man.

My friend and I did a multi species hunt with Wyoming Wings and Waters. Ryan was our guide, and he made our trip memorable. We both got our first sage grouse ever, and was able to hunt grouse, huns, and chukars all in the same day. Though we were unsuccessful on the chukars (fault to our bad shooting) we were able to get on some nice coveys the following day. We ended up getting all three species in just two days of hunting. Ryan's knowledge and tactics on the wild birds was incredible. His dogs were spectacular as well. Would recommend  this hunt to anyone who appreciates the effort required to hunt wild birds in wild country. Speaking of country, the views were breathtaking. We had lunch in the middle of nowhere with a gorgeous scenic overlook. I would hire Ryan just to take me around Wyoming. And now speaking of lunch, um wow! Ryan can cook up a good meal.

My wife and I are new to fly fishing and our guide Ryan was extremely patient with us. He was kind and even put us on some nice fish. Would recommend ten times over again. Only reason we gave 4 stars is because the moss was annoying. Not his fault though, and he did warn us about it.

I can't say enough about the job Ryan is doing! He's honest, great to communicate with, attentive, energetic, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and fun. The surprising cherry on top was that he is a sneaky good cook. The lunch was amazing! Can't wait to fish with him again next year!
